Today we arrived in Valdez. We spent the night alongside the road in a nice wide pull off right beside a waterfall. We slept with the soothing sound of the water falling and the swift stream that it fed. So many blessings to share about yesterday.
This may not seem like a big deal to all, but from day 1 here in Alaska we have been on the lookout for a State Trooper. We had a request before we left home to see if we could get anAlaskan State Trooper badge. We thought we missed an opportunity while in Seward as we drove past one, but didn't stop. We were kicking ourselves.
You know where it says in Eph. 3:20 that "God can accomplish infinitely more than we could we ask or imagine"? A small prayer from a mother's heart took us right to a State Troopers Station right near where we got gas as we were leaving the Kenai Peninsula. Evan and I walked in and spoke to the lady at the window. We gave her our request and she walked back in the office. When she came back she opened a closet and handed us Trooper badges that were taken off the uniforms of other officers. One for each of our first responders. I literally cried as we walked out because just moments earlier we prayed that God would show us favor and allow us to get one. I wanted just one, but God gave us more. So here's to you my first responder or two. And a huge thank you to God who cares about such details and blesses us so much.
Today, we rented some e-bikes to travel around town. It is supposed to rain later today so we are taking advantage of being outside when we can.
Down a dirt road in the middle of wild Alaska! It was the BEST time exploring outside Valdez. This flat is running with glacier water. it is blue/green and milky with mineral deposits.
Evan beside the glacier stream.
I was wearing 5 layers and my pouch under all the layers. It was cold
Just found out the place we were going tomorrow or Saturday is supposed to get 6" of snow, so I guess Evan and I need to change our plans. We are going to work on that tonight.A little bonus though since we are staying here for a day longer or more we will be treated to an airshow.
Backing up to yesterday we drove from Homer to Valdez. A long day of travel, but the views were keeping us interested as we traveled down. Saw this glacier and a moose along the side of the road. They are big, just like everything else in Alaska. The snow is melting off the mountains so there are many waterfalls cascading down making the views spectacular.

So we are here for a few days and I'm ok with that. These Alaskans are real friendly people. Tomorrow we are going to the fish hatchery and the Valdez Museum. We will learn all about this place we are calling home for a few days.
Love you all 💔💖💗
