Saturday May 22, Seward, glaciers and a walk in the woods

Our coffee and wifi spot in Seward

Today we drove to Exit Glacier and walked up to the base of the glacier.

It was a snowy walk through the woods. Evan singing all the way to warn the bears we were in the woods. Spectacular views and scenery so pretty you just can't take it all in. And pictures just can't do it justice. Mountains everywhere you turn your eyes.

Exit Glacier is just behind us. This is where we pulled over to eat lunch. That's one of the cool things about RV life. Your meals can be enjoyed anyplace you wish to stop. Evan is enjoying walking all around "snooping" as I like to tell him. And sometimes his snooping gets us a great tip on where to go so no judgement on my part.

Lunch spot today.
And I lived to tell about it.

This is a picture of our walking trail to the glacier.

At the moment I am sitting at the Seward Public Library with this view.

Our camper is right in front of this water.

A little interesting history of Seward. In 1964 there was a 9.2 earthquake which triggered a huge Tsunami. This fjord is 900 feet deep, never freezes because of its depth, and all of the water drained out before the tidal wave came rushing in. There were eyewitnesses that watched the water drain out to expose the mud below. The earthquake caused the oil tanks to explode and the whole town of Seward caught on fire. It is absolutely amazing only 12 people perished.

Tomorrow we purchased tickets to go out beyond the fjord and see glaciers up close and personal. The boat we choose to go on holds only 6 people and much more intimate. It's a 6 hour tour. You can be sure I will take lots of pictures. Hope to see whales, lots of blue ice and wonderful scenery.

Until tomorrow with love 💖💖💖
